Getting Started with Agora.io
This plugin needs a free Agora.io account to work. Sign up and create a project in the Agora Console. You’ll need an App ID (always required) and an App Certificate (optional, but strongly recommended since it enables token-based security for your stream). If you also want usage-minutes tracking on the dashboard, grab your Customer ID and Customer Secret from the RESTful API section, plus your Project ID from Project Management.
Creating and Embedding a Livestream
Go to Live Shopping > Add New Stream, give it a title, and set a Host Name/Avatar plus any Featured Products you want pinned to the shopping bag during the stream. Publish the post, then copy the ready-made [hdlsa_stream id="..."] shortcode from the Embed Shortcode box and paste it into any page or post — the stream renders as a self-contained player with chat, a floating-hearts like button, and a shopping-bag button.
Going Live
Open the page as the host (the WordPress user who owns the livestream post, or an administrator) to get broadcaster controls — camera, mic, start/stop. Anyone else who opens the same page joins automatically as a viewer; there’s no separate viewer link to share.
After the Stream
Duration, unique viewers, and peak concurrent viewers are recorded automatically and shown both on the stream’s own edit screen and on the aggregate Live Shopping dashboard, which also totals your last-30-days Agora usage minutes if you entered REST API credentials. Chat history and the analytics report are both exportable as CSV from the stream’s edit screen — useful for measuring how each WordPress live shopping event actually performed before planning the next one.
External Service Notice
This plugin uses Agora.io services for live video, audio, messaging, and usage analytics.
- Live stream data is transmitted while broadcasts are active.
- Chat messages and reactions are sent through Agora RTM.
- Usage analytics may call https://api.agora.io/dev/v3/usage from admin dashboards.
- A non-personal UID may be used for session management.

Limitations
Please read before installing:
- Requires a free Agora.io account and App ID; the plugin itself doesn’t provide video infrastructure
- Only one broadcaster per stream at a time — no multi-host/co-hosting in this version
- Usage-minutes tracking on the dashboard needs separate Agora REST API credentials; it’s optional and the core stream works without it
Quick Setup
- Upload the plugin files to /wp-content/plugins/hdwebmobile-live-shopping-with-agora, or install through the Plugins screen directly.
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
- Go to Live Shopping > Settings to configure your Agora App ID and Certificate.
- Create a new Livestream post, embed its shortcode on any page, and go live.
